Finance Lead EMEA, Wolvega/Steenwijk/Hoofddorp, 40 uur p/w (hybride)

This client is looking for a Finance Lead Formulated Solutions EMEA to join their Finance team based in Wolvega/Steenwijk and sometimes attendance in Hoofddorp is required.

About this role

This role provides overall direction for all processes and teams associated with financial processes of the formulated solutions facilities in EMEA by developing a short/mid-term financial strategy, delivering financial reports, improving, and aligning policies and processes, and leading senior managers to ensure the financial strategy is implemented effectively. The job holder is also the Financial Business Partner for the VP Formulated Solutions and the Global Commercial Director.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Direct the finance teams from a commercial and cost control perspective in a manner consistent with the organizational policies and values.
  • Direct, manage, align, and coordinate financial reporting, planning and budgeting for the Formulated Solutions facilities.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for multiple locations, including forecasting and monitoring budget performance.
  • Measure and assess monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance and recommend and institute course corrections ensuring attainment of annual targets and goals.
  • Utilize financial metrics to improve financial performance.
  • Provide financial leadership and support to business leaders across multiple locations, so support and partner with General, Commercial, and Production Leadership.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports for the Formulated Solutions Facilities.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and key financial metrics (CCC, DSO, DPO, and DIO) and ensure that the company has sufficient resources to meet its obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws/accounting principles and regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and government agencies when applicable.
  • Manage the finance teams of the involved facilities, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure their professional growth.
  • Drive improvement programs within the financial and data domain

 Critical results:

Provides business direction for all general & corporate financial processes, such as commercial control; sales order processing; financial check; payment procedure; commission; stock replenishment; financial control; financial planning & analysis; net working capital, and key financial metrics (CCC, DSO, DPO and DIO), cash flow; investment management (CAPEX | OPEX); tax; insurance; treasury; internal control; budgeting and forecasting.

 

Ideal candidate

Education / Experience:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in finance.
  • Has 7 or more years of experience in relevant field or related management experience
  • Experience in a multi-country organization
  • Experience in a production environment is essential.

Skills:

  • Manages a department that includes multiple local teams led by managers and/or team leaders.
  • Ownership of the execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the department.
  • Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
  • Requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Key behavioural criteria:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial laws/accounting principles and regulations, including tax laws.
  • Familiarity with local financial reporting requirements and tax laws.
  • Experience managing finance teams across multiple locations.
